Finding Inspiration in Every Bride
We know that shopping for your bridal gown is a very personal experience and that you are shopping for the most important dress of your life! White Gown Workroom takes Personal to the next level. You will be the only bride in our beautiful salon as you shop our collection gowns, or for your Alterations Fittings. The personal doesn't stop there . . . . our Alterations Workroom can Alter & Custom Redesign your gown by lowering the back, changing the neckline, adding lace or embellished sleeve treatments giving you a true One-Of-A-Kind gown. If your gown is only in your head let us help you bring it to life!

Brides love the intimate and comfortable feeling when shopping at White Gown Workroom. One of our brides expressed her appreciation of our personal atmosphere and said, " You don't have to be a Kardashian to have the whole store to yourself!" We are tucked away in the super chic State-Thomas neighborhood of Uptown, that gives you all the East coast feels.

Our Story
Debra Powell began her bridal alteration career 21 years ago by applying for a seasonal position at The Bridal Portfolio in McKinney Tx. "I loved the quaint boutique with glass cases full of beautiful couture gowns; the owner Sherry Dorman was truly my inspiration as a designer and business owner. I feel the experience definitely influenced everything I've done."
She found her next opportunity with Irene Gregory in Highland Park where she took over ownership in November 2002. She moved to Ross Ave in 2004 changing the name to Debra's Alterations. There she partnered with Lulus Bridal, Blush Couture, The Bridal Portfolio in Southlake, Warren Barron serving all their brides. In 2008 the move to the Design District Debra's became White Gown Workroom selling retail and off the rack gowns with in-house alterations. We have been in our current Uptown location since 2013 and we are profoundly grateful for the hundreds of brides that have trusted us.
"It is my heart to make you feel at ease throughout the shopping or alterations/design process and to create a calm peaceful atmosphere.
To give every bride the gown of her dreams."
